Iphone competitor to be released by Amazon in 2012

After launching the successful Kindle, which made 3 million sales, Amazon is hot on the heels gearing up for a competitor for the market dominant Iphone.

Amazon is scaling up to take advantage of its ecosystem friendly products running across books, video and the new music story to keep its customers hooked to its own proprietary hardware and software while they compete with similar products in the market like Ipads and Iphones.

Citigroup analst Mark Maharey has staged that the device wil be released in Quarter 4 of 2012 (July to September in the US). Mr. Maharey was the one who made accurate predictions on the announcements of Kindle Fire Tablet, an iPad competitor.

Amazon has been sucessull in its previous moves into the Hardware Market. Even though their Smartphone goes for a high concept, spec heavy machine to genuinely compete with the Iphone 4S is still doubtful with the company's strategy so far. They not just need a solid strategy but a winning product.

The unnamed Amazon phone device and its components will be manufactured by TMS business group owned by Hon Hai ( the same group who are making the Amazon's E-reader). Mr. Mahaney estimates a product price of US$250 which is expected to make a 30% margin, depending on the Amazon's make or break strategy.
